"Safe Zone" is an oxymoron.

From my limited knowlege of the subject, I believe most of the lunatic mass killings were done in "safe zones".

For myself, there is an uneasy feeling when ever I walk into one of these zones.
I don't have my CCW permit yet, so it's the guys that do have them that I count on.

If a company really wants to have a gun free zone they should mke it a strerile area.

As I posted in another forum, "Until a private company can guarantee me that the criminals will also not bring guns onto the property, mine will not be left behind either".

If it not on the restricted locations for CCW I wouldn't worry about it, not that I worry about it anyway.

Yeah, that's why it's in quotations.

Kind of like "assault wepons" or "accidental discharges"

Your post is dead nuts on. "Safe Zones" are like pastures with 100,000 sheep and no sheep dog to protect them. If I were of the criminal mindset I would go for the easy target too.

Take a look at the Capitol Building for example.

The two main entrances have metal detectors and x-ray for the visitors, plus 3 officers manning each station, yet the hundreds of employees can scan their cards and walk in without scrutiny.

Not to mention the half dozen other exits that are unmanned and, for the most part, unsecured.

I used to take my daughter to the top of the capitol for picnics in the summer, but I don't dare go there now, knowing what I know now.

.gov doe NOT give us the right...

The Bill of Rights just documents the inalienable rights so that .gov and the people are aware of what .gov can NOT do...

Unfortunately there are too many who feel the Constitution is a 'living' document that can change with the times...
