Default Wal-Mart Concealed Carry Policy

Just thought I would post this for those of you who might be curious. I carry when I am at Wally World just as I carry anywhere else I go (excluding places that by law is illegal to carry in).

Anyway, this is a copy/paste of a letter recieved from Wal-Mart HQ someone else posted on another forum:

~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a letter regarding Walmart's policy on CCW:
DATE: Friday, April 16,1999 2:13 PM
Subject: RE: Firearms
Thank you for contacting Wal-Mart regarding our concealed handgun policy. Wal-Mart was founded by Sam Walton on three basic principles. Strive for Excellence, Service to our Customers, and Respect for the Individual. It is that respect for the individual that led us to create the current policy pertaining to concealed handguns.
The following is our policy......If a Wal-Mart customer has been awarded a concealed handgun license by the state government, Wal-Mart will follow the direction of the state. However, if at anytime while on Wal-Mart property, that customer's concealed weapon becomes visible to Wal-Mart associates or customers, Wal-Mart reserves the right to ask the customer to either reposition the weapon so that it will not be visible, to remove the weapon completely or to leave Wal-Mart property, With the exception of law enforcement personnel, Wal-Mart does not allow any exposed weapons to be worn or carried in public view on Wal-Mart property or in Wal-Mart stores. Customers other than law enforcement personnel wearing or carrying a weapon in an exposed manner will be asked to leave the property immediately.
We appreciate your concern and trust that this message has addressed your concerns regarding this issue.
Thank you,
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Seems pretty reasonable to me, unless you live in an open carry state
Any of you seen the documentary on them? Pretty ####ed up how they ruin small town business everytime they open a new store. They also make it extremely expensive for their employees to purchase health insurance through the company, they've directed employees to go on welfare instead of paying for benefits. Some states have had to pay as much as 2 million in extra money to accomodate for the extra hike because of the people on welfare as soon as a Walmart has opened.
I agree. Places like Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Costco and the like have basically shut down America's small town business and replaced it will the large conglomerates that suck up our local money, close down mom and pop, sell goods that are Chinese/Pakistan made pieces of #### and replaced local grown beef/produce with Mexican crap.
I shop there, but only when the other stores dont have what I am looking for and have no choice but to go.
I totally agree with this. Besides most of their #### being made in China, the #### you buy that is made in China is usually made in sweat shops by little kids so their family can have a bowl of rice to eat tonight. Can anyone guess who just got granted MFN (Most Favored Nation) status by the U.S.??? CHINA! The bastards! They violate all the child labor laws and are among the most pollutant to the environment.
Wink
Since the gunshows began coming mor often (three months instead of twice-yearly awhile ago), I now stock up on my rimfire ammo there - instead of Wally's. CF ammo, I either get at the gunshow or order online.
Guns I get at a gunshop or online, received at a local FFL.
So, I look forward to Wally's giving up guns and ammo altogether - it will be a boon for the local shops and FFLs.
Yes, I do still shop there occasionally - if I can't get what I want at a smaller store. But I do try to keep it to a minimum.
Their CCW policy is the same as most places - "concealed" means CONCEALED!
Otherwise, we scare the sheeple. No need to panic them.
